BELTRAMI COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – DNA evidence has resulted in new charges against a Blackduck man in connection with a two-year-old rape case in Beltrami County.
According to court documents, Brent Roy Cloud is now charged with criminal sexual conduct in the fifth degree for nonconsensual sexual contact. The incident occurred on June 8, 2023, at the Hotel Bemidji, located at 2422 Ridgeway Avenue.
Investigators say the victim, a female hotel guest, reported that Cloud, an employee of the hotel, entered her room to fix a toilet and then forced sexual contact on her. Recently obtained DNA evidence supports the victim’s account, leading to the new charge.
Cloud has a criminal history that includes convictions for domestic assault, assault on a peace officer, violation of a no-contact order, and fleeing police.
