Clay County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Moorhead woman with a prior DWI conviction is now facing two gross misdemeanor charges after a July 10 traffic stop revealed an extremely high blood alcohol concentration.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Clay County District Court, Tessa Harmony Bride, 43, was pulled over at approximately 2:52 a.m. by a Moorhead police officer after displaying signs of impairment. Officer Leadbetter reported that Bride had very slurred speech, red and watery eyes, and her vehicle smelled of alcohol.

Bride allegedly admitted to having been at a bar earlier that night. During field sobriety testing, she showed clear signs of impairment and gave a preliminary breath test (PBT) reading of .291—over three times the legal limit.

She was arrested and transported to the Clay County Jail, where she consented to a breath test that measured her BAC at .25 at 4:08 a.m.

The complaint also notes two aggravating factors, including a prior DWI conviction in 2018 (Case No. 14-CR-18-559).

Bride has been charged with:

  • Count I: 2nd Degree DWI – Operate Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol

  • Count II: 2nd Degree DWI – Alcohol Concentration .08 or Greater Within 2 Hours

Each charge is a gross misdemeanor under Minnesota law and carries significant penalties.
