Cass County – West Fargo (trfnews.i234.me) – A man with a nationwide warrant for attempted homicide is now in custody following an assault incident in West Fargo.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, officers were called to the Red River Valley Fairgrounds on July 6 at 12:20 a.m. in response to an assault involving carnival staff. The suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle, and victims were able to provide authorities with a detailed description of both the suspect and the car.
Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle at the Rodeway Inn parking lot in West Fargo and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect was identified as Drafton Eugene Jones.
Through further investigation, officers discovered that Jones had multiple outstanding nationwide warrants, including for:

Criminal attempted homicide

Parole violation
-
Flight to avoid prosecution
In addition to those warrants, Jones was arrested for:

Unlawful possession of a firearm

Providing false information to law enforcement
He was also cited for marijuana possession and having an open container in the vehicle.
Authorities noted that, at the time of the report, the victim chose not to press charges for the assault incident.
Jones is currently being held in the Cass County Jail as he works through the criminal justice process.
