Minneapolis (trfnews.i234.me) – A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening during an altercation that escalated to gunfire in Minneapolis, according to police. Officers responded just before 6:30 p.m. to the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South after a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they found a man in his 30s lying on the sidewalk with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite the quick efforts from both officers and EMS to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara stated that the shooting stemmed from a confrontation between a group of people who were gathered on the sidewalk. He added that those involved were likely acquainted with each other, and the dispute quickly escalated into violence.
As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner has not yet identified the victim.
