Morehead (trfnews.i234.me) — A dramatic situation is unfolding this Monday morning in far south Morehead, Minnesota.

According to Joseph Brandon of the Morehead Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Department is leading a SWAT operation near 23rd Street South and 40th Avenue South after a high-speed chase ended with the suspect fleeing on foot.

Authorities say the incident began when a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that refused to pull over. After the vehicle was spike-stripped, the suspect abandoned it and ran into a nearby home.

Fortunately, the residents of the house were able to get out safely, and the Red River Valley SWAT team was called in. The home is now surrounded, and the suspect is believed to be barricaded inside.

We will continue to monitor the situation and bring you updates as they become available.
