Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) – A violent altercation in a Mahnomen garage on July 6, 2025, has led to felony charges against Elias Edward Thompson Jr., 20, for allegedly using a knife during an assault.
According to the complaint, officers responded to 312 S Main St, where they found two injured men, bleeding from head wounds and cuts. The victims reported that Thompson Jr. and a group, including minors, stormed into the garage and initiated a violent attack.
Witnesses told police that Thompson Jr. struck Dylan in the head with a pole while another suspect wielded a banana-shaped silver knife, making stabbing motions toward Dylan. The confrontation was reportedly sparked by a retaliatory motive related to a prior assault involving one of the suspects.
Thompson Jr. has been charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony punishable by up to 7 years in prison and/or a $14,000 fine.
