Moorhead, Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) — A terrifying and bizarre home invasion unfolded at Bright Sky Apartments on July 5th.
According to court documents, officers responded at 10:30 a.m. to a call from a resident who reported being attacked in his own apartment. The victim said he was resting on his couch at 9:30 a.m. when he heard his door open and shut, followed by a chilling voice declaring: “The devil is in me.”
The intruder, identified as Damon Taylor, then allegedly punched the victim, knocking him off the couch. In a desperate struggle, the victim says Taylor bit his thumb and neck while trying to escape.
A security guard arrived as the assault continued and police were called. Taylor was arrested on the scene.
Officers said Taylor was incoherent and rambling, later admitting to alcohol and marijuana use. He is now charged with felony first-degree burglary assault.
