Moorhead, Clay County (trfnews.i234.me) — Juvenile charges are pending after a middle school student was allegedly found with a large amount of suspected fentanyl pills in Moorhead.
Moorhead Police confirmed the student was taken into custody on Dec. 11. The student attends Horizon Middle School, according to police.
What the police say happened
Police said the student had about 1,500 blue pills believed to contain fentanyl. Police estimated the street value at about $25 per pill. That would total about $37,500.
Police said another student reported the drugs. Officers then responded and recovered the pills, police said.
The case involves a juvenile. Police did not release the student’s name. Police also did not share the student’s age.

School response
Police said the school will add periodic random K9 searches. The searches will be used as a regular practice, police said.
