McKenzie County (trfnews.i234.me) — A tragic crash Saturday night outside the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge in New Town has left an 84-year-old woman seriously injured and a 60-year-old man facing a felony charge.

At 10:50 PM on June 28, 2025, a 2006 Ford Five Hundred was backing out of a parking spot in the casino’s east parking lot when the vehicle struck a female pedestrian with the rear bumper, knocking her to the ground.

The woman, a local resident, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot by New Town Ambulance.

The driver, a 60-year-old male from New Town, was not injured, nor was his 62-year-old female passenger. Authorities are still investigating whether seat restraints were used.

The driver has been charged with Criminal Vehicular Injury, a Class C Felony. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the ND Highway Patrol, McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, Three Affiliated Tribes Police, and casino security.

The investigation remains active.
