COTTONWOOD COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A woman was injured in a shocking motorcycle-deer collision in Amboy Township on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 62-year-old Jacqueline Marie Pearce of Cass Lake, MN, was riding her 2015 Harley-Davidson Softail southbound on Highway 71 near County Road 10 around 2:42 p.m. on June 24, 2025, when a deer suddenly entered the roadway. Pearce’s motorcycle slammed into the animal, causing her to crash.

Emergency responders from Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Jeffers Fire and Rescue, Westbrook and Lamberton Ambulance, and North Memorial Air rushed to the scene.

Pearce, who was wearing a helmet, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by air to Sioux Falls Hospital for treatment. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The road conditions at the time were reported to be dry.
