Fargo, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A man once charged with attempted murder in a Fargo shooting is now headed back to court—this time on federal charges related to ammunition.

Cordell McFadden was originally charged with attempted murder, but that charge was later dropped. He was instead convicted of aggravated assault and received a 10-year sentence for the same violent incident.

Now, McFadden is facing new legal trouble. During the investigation into the assault, police found him in possession of a magazine containing six rounds of .380 caliber ammunition—ammo that did not match the type recovered from the scene.

The critical detail? McFadden was prohibited from possessing any ammunition due to prior convictions. That led to a federal charge of Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon.

According to court records, McFadden is scheduled to be sentenced on July 1st in Fargo federal court on the new charge.
