Walhalla, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Walhalla man with a history of drunk driving has been arrested for his fifth DUI after allegedly crashing a four-wheeler into a fence on June 26.
Authorities were called for a welfare check on Jeffery Arens, but when they arrived around 1:00 P.M., they spotted Arens driving a yellow ATV, which he backed into a fence before circling a building and parking.
Officers, already aware that Arens had a suspended driver’s license, made contact as he entered a clinic. He reeked of alcohol, had watery, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech, according to court documents. A clinic employee confirmed he had admitted to drinking.
Arens was detained for driving with a suspended license. He refused field sobriety tests but submitted to a breath test, which clocked in at a shocking .334 BAC—more than four times the legal limit.
He now faces charges for:
-
Driving under suspension, and
-
Fifth offense DUI.
