SCOTT COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) – A 62-year-old man from Epping, North Dakota, has died following a tragic motorcycle crash in Belle Plaine Township Tuesday night.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded just before 8:50 p.m. to a 911 call at the intersection of County Road 7 and 235th Street West. Authorities say Robert Kendall Sheehan was riding southbound when he veered into the northbound lane and struck a 2012 Chevrolet Impala head-on.

Sheehan was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.

The 20-year-old Cologne man driving the Impala suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

Sheriff Luke Hennen offered condolences to the family and confirmed the ongoing investigation is being conducted in coordination with the Minnesota State Patrol, Hennepin County Medical Examiner, and local emergency responders, including the Belle Plaine Fire Department, Ridgeview Ambulance, and Mayo Air Ambulance.
