Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Cass Lake man with a history of predatory offender violations is once again in serious legal trouble after vanishing from his registered addresses.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Beltrami County District Court, Joseph Allen Jones Jr. (DOB 6/24/1983) failed to return his annual address verification form as required under Minnesota’s Predatory Offender Registration Law. The law mandates strict address tracking until at least 2041 in Jones’s case.

On October 27, 2024, a compliance check by Deputy Allison Critchfield revealed Jones was not living at any of his known addresses, including a rundown camper at 355 Red Cherry Lane and a halfway house in Cass Lake. Residents confirmed Jones hadn’t been seen in some time, and phone attempts failed.

Jones, previously convicted of multiple felonies, including prior predatory offender violations, is now charged with a felony for knowingly failing to register—an offense punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
