Deer Collision on Highway 19 Injures 24-Year-Old Arlington Woman in Sibley County – trfnews.i234.me

Transit Township, Sibley County (trfnews.i234.me)On Thursday, May 29, 2025, at approximately 10:16 p.m., a single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 19, one mile east of Winthrop in Transit Township, Sibley County. The incident involved a 2014 Chevy Impala driven by 24-year-old Samantha Estela Leighton of Arlington, Minnesota. Leighton was traveling westbound on Highway 19 when her vehicle struck a deer. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hutchinson Health for treatment. The road conditions were wet at the time of the incident. Emergency response teams from the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office, Gaylord Police Department, and Winthrop Fire Department/Ambulance assisted at the scene.
