Hennepin County (trfnews.i234.me) – A tragic incident unfolded in downtown Minneapolis on Monday night, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old boy. According to Minneapolis Police, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 9 p.m. near the Federal Reserve Bank on Hennepin Avenue South. Upon arrival, they found the teen with at least one gunshot wound; he was transported to Hennepin Healthcare, where he later died from his injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a physical altercation occurred among approximately a dozen teenage boys in the area. During the confrontation, one of the teens allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the 14-year-old. Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed deep concern over the incident, stating, “When teenagers have access to guns, conflicts can turn deadly. One young life is lost, and others are forever changed. It’s heartbreaking.”
The victim’s identity has not been released, and no arrests have been made at this time. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
This incident adds to a series of violent events in Minneapolis over the past week, including multiple shootings that have left several individuals dead or injured. However, police do not believe this particular shooting is connected to the previous incidents .
