Cass County, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me)Travis Holt, 40, of Fargo, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for kidnapping and raping his neighbor in March 2024. The incident occurred in an apartment complex on the 2600 block of 8th Street North, where Holt and the victim resided as neighbors. According to court documents, Holt broke into the victim’s apartment, forcibly took her to his unit, and assaulted her.

The victim reported that Holt used a knife to tear off her clothes, punched her, and raped her. She sustained multiple injuries, including a stab wound to her ribcage. When authorities attempted to arrest Holt, he refused to exit his apartment, prompting the deployment of the Red River Valley SWAT Team. SWAT officers used flash bangs, tear gas, and non-lethal ammunition to apprehend him.

In January 2025, Holt pleaded guilty to charges of gross sexual imposition, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and possession of methamphetamine. Charges of terrorizing and criminal trespass were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Holt’s sentence includes 15 years of incarceration, with credit for 338 days already served. Upon release, he will be on probation for five years and is required to register as a sex offender.
