According to court records, on October 23, 2024, Detroit Lakes police responded to a domestic incident on Minnesota Avenue. Meyer was accused of biting her husband on the chest, leaving visible injuries, and threatening him with a hatchet during an altercation. The victim managed to disarm her before any further harm occurred.

On February 25, 2025, District Judge Michael Fritz issued a stay of adjudication, meaning the charge will be dismissed upon successful completion of probation. Meyer was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 88 days stayed for two years, and received credit for two days served. She was also fined $400 and placed on supervised probation for two years.
