Goodhue County: Elderly Driver Strikes Sign on Highway 57!

Cherry Grove Twp, Goodhue County (trfnews.i234.me) – A shocking accident took place on April 12, 2025, at 13:22, when an 82-year-old driver, Earle James Peters of Mankato, MN, lost control of his 2016 Mazda CX5 on Highway 57 near milepost 14 in Cherry Grove Township. The vehicle veered off the road and struck a sign. Both Peters and his 77-year-old passenger, Elizabeth Rose Peters, were wearing seat belts, and fortunately, their injuries were non-life-threatening.

Both individuals were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Thankfully, the road was dry at the time, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Emergency responders from the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
