LITCHFIELD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — On April 8, 2025, a three-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 22 and East Saint Paul Street in Litchfield, Meeker County. The incident involved a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2021 Kenworth Semi, and a 2012 Buick Lacrosse.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 44-year-old Anthony Allen Fransen of Litchfield, was traveling westbound on East St. Paul Street. Simultaneously, the Kenworth Semi, operated by 25-year-old Jonathon Michael Niece of Watkins, was heading northbound on Highway 22. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, causing the Silverado to subsequently crash into the eastbound Buick Lacrosse, driven by 54-year-old Rick James Plamann of Cokato.
Fransen and Niece were uninjured in the crash. However, Plamann sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital for treatment. All drivers were wearing seat belts, and no alcohol was involved. Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the accident.
Emergency response teams from Litchfield Police, Litchfield Fire and Rescue, and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene. The incident is documented under case number 25601224 in the 2600 St. Cloud district.
