Cass County (TRF News) – Elderly Woman Dies After Wandering from West Fargo Assisted Living Facility
A 95-year-old woman suffering from dementia reportedly froze to death this week after wandering out of the Kinder Care Assisted Living facility in West Fargo during dangerously cold temperatures.
According to a source close to the case, the tragic incident occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The woman, whose identity has not been released, somehow exited the facility, where temperatures at the time were approximately 20 degrees below zero.
Investigation Underway
West Fargo Police are investigating what they referred to as a “medical emergency” at Kinder Care on Tuesday. Addison Stewart of West Fargo Police confirmed the investigation but provided no further details at this time.
Authorities have yet to officially determine the cause of death, but exposure to extreme cold is suspected.
Facility Response and Unanswered Questions
Kinder Care Assisted Living has been contacted for comment, but has not yet responded.
This case raises serious concerns about how the elderly woman was able to leave the facility unnoticed and whether proper safety measures were in place.
