A 79-year-old Northwood man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 36th Street NE and 6th Avenue NE, approximately three miles northwest of Northwood, North Dakota. The accident occurred on the morning of September 9, 2024, under clear and dry road conditions.
A 1995 Peterbilt truck, driven by 69-year-old Charles Bachmeier, failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the northbound 2018 Ford F-150. The Ford ended up in the east ditch, and the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, suffered serious injuries. He was transported to Northwood Deaconess Hospital by ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
