A serious crash involving a 1957 Cush Moped left 75-year-old Jed Mark Maggert of Blackduck with life-threatening injuries on Friday in Beltrami County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred in Port Hope Township just before 2 p.m. when Maggert’s southbound Moped was struck by a minivan driven by 20-year-old Shania Kay Kampa, also of Blackduck.
Maggert, who was not wearing a helmet at the time, was rushed to Fargo Hospital for treatment.
Kampa suffered no apparent injuries.
Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
