New Independence Township, St. Louis County (trfnews.i234.me) – On Friday, May 30, 2025, at approximately 1:53 p.m., a single-vehicle accident occurred on southbound Highway 53 near Birch Road in New Independence Township, St. Louis County. A 2022 Toyota Corolla, driven by 63-year-old Lynne Marie Stuckey of Tower, Minnesota, struck a guardrail, veered into the median, and came to rest in a small river. Stuckey sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Duluth for treatment. She was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not involved. Road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.
Emergency response teams from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
