Itasca County (trfnews.i234.me) – A 57-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Jerry Music of Taconite, was critically injured in a collision with two pickup trucks and a boat trailer on Highway 169 near Taconite. The crash occurred just after noon on July 6 near milepost 316.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, traffic had slowed due to a vehicle waiting to turn left onto Gibbs Park Road. The 2010 GMC Sierra, driven by a 22-year-old from Taconite, was stopped behind the vehicle, and hauling a boat. A 53-year-old man driving a 2013 Ford F150 attempted to avoid a collision by pulling onto the shoulder.

As the motorcyclist, traveling southbound, entered the slowdown, he struck the boat and the F150, sustaining severe injuries. Music was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, and no injuries were reported from the truck drivers or a 60-year-old passenger.

The crash occurred under dry road conditions, and no alcohol was involved. Responding agencies included Itasca County deputies, local fire crews, and North Memorial Air Care.
