56-Year-Old Man Missing After Mississippi River Incident Near Lake City

Lake City, Goodhue County (trfnews.i234.me) – A 56-year-old man is missing following a water emergency on the Mississippi River near Lake City, Minnesota. The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. Saturday at Long Point on the Mississippi River/Lake Pepin.

According to authorities, the man was wading in the water with a 12-year-old girl, who was later spotted in distress by a passing boat. The girl was successfully rescued and is uninjured, but the man went under the water and did not resurface.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is leading the ongoing search, supported by multiple agencies, including the Lake City Fire Department, Lake City Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Drones and specialized water recovery teams are being deployed in the effort.

Authorities have not released the identity of the missing man. The search is active, and updates will be provided as information becomes available.
