50th Annual Wacipi Powwow Celebrated at the University of North Dakota

und’s 50th time out with cp pow wow is underway at the hislop center at und on this saturday admission is free and open to all uh it’s a celebration of life featuring dancing singing highlighting cultural to traditions values and contributions that indigenous people bring to our community and region traditionally at the u n d with cp graduating indigenous students are recognized for their academic achievements with an honor song honoring will occur throughout both days of this powwow this year’s celebration includes the host drum midnight express singers local art and craft vendors and great food options uh still yet on this saturday at 5 00 p.m it’s the traditional community meal sponsored by the und alumni association and foundation and at 7 p.m on this saturday it’s the grand entry a procession of participants into the dancing arena led by military veterans and honored guests followed by dancers dressed in their regalia i’m neil carlson reporting for eye news dot tv
