50 People Rescued on Lake of the Woods, 1 Person Safe in Water

LAKE OF THE WOODS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) The Lake of the Woods Sheriff’s Office now says 50 people wound up being rescued off that lake on New Years Day. One person went in the water, but is safe.
this update now regarding an ice rescue on Lake of the Woods on New Year’s Day I news first told you about this from the Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office uh Sheriff Gary fish on January 1st at 223 p.m. Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office was notified a mail went through the ice on his ATV about a mile off Longo the male was able to get out with no injuries at approximately almost 3: 300 p.m. they received a report that 20 to 25 people were stranded on the north side of a pressure Ridge that had cracked wide open at that time longpoint resort was using a boat to bring people across the Open Water to the south side of the pressure Ridge where they were then transported ashore by UTV or snowmobile Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office Minnesota DNR but at fire and rescue Lake of the Woods ambulance responded to the scene uh they utilized airboats and UVS to Aid in the rescue of people by the end approximately 50 people were rescued off the lake I’m Neil Berg reporting for I trfnews.i234.me

  1. If your not in the water its not a rescue, just being on ice that broke off from other ice doesnot mean you need rescued. Someone pulling up in a boat so you can get in, just like you would from a dock or the shore is not being rescued. Why the need to over dramatize this?
