An 18-year-old man was seriously injured in a collision involving his SUV and a BNSF train on Thursday morning, north of Buxton, North Dakota. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the driver was traveling east when his vehicle struck the second engine of the train and was dragged approximately 50 feet.
The driver was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with severe injuries. Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt reported that emergency services responded to the scene just before 8 a.m.
The crash is currently under investigation by authorities.
