An 18-year-old from Buxton, North Dakota, sustained severe injuries after his vehicle collided with a moving train just north of Buxton on Thursday morning. The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the driver as Jack Knudsvig. The incident occurred before 8:00 a.m. when Jack Knudsvig, driving eastbound in an Onvoy, struck the second engine of a southbound train. His vehicle was dragged approximately 50 feet down the tracks.
Jack Knudsvig, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was airlifted via LifeLight to a hospital in Fargo, where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. No charges have been filed in connection with the accident.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
