Becker County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Robert James Warren, 35, of Ponsford, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct. A second count of felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct was dropped as part of a plea agreement.
According to court records, Warren engaged in sexual touching of a girl under the age of 12 on multiple occasions over several years. The abuse was reported to a mandated reporter, who informed law enforcement on December 3.
On April 23, Warren appeared before District Judge Doug Clark. He was sentenced to 36 months in prison at St. Cloud, with 25 years stayed. Conditional release after confinement was set at 99 years. He was ordered to serve 180 days in jail, with credit for 111 days served, and was granted work release privileges.
Warren was fined $1,500 plus $150 in court fees and placed on supervised probation for 25 years. He was ordered not to drink or use drugs and to complete a comprehensive assessment and a psychological-sexual evaluation, following all recommendations including aftercare.
Additionally, Warren was ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family and no unsupervised contact with persons under age 18 or vulnerable adults. He must successfully complete outpatient sex offender treatment as arranged by his agent and register as a predatory offender. Warren must stay out of all sex-oriented businesses and not possess any pornography.
