Becker County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Brittany Violet Anderson, 26, of Detroit Lakes, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for gross misdemeanor third-degree riot. A felony second-degree riot charge was dropped in a plea agreement.
According to court records, on August 15, 2023, at about 12:38 a.m., Anderson was involved in a fight between two groups of young people in Detroit Lakes. The confrontation escalated when words were exchanged, leading to a physical altercation. During the fight, one male was nicked by a knife, and a gun was fired but did not hit anyone.
On April 23, Anderson appeared before District Judge Doug Clark. She was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with all but 10 days stayed for two years. She was allowed to serve the 10 days on electronic home monitoring at her own expense, with work privileges granted.
Additionally, Anderson was fined $500 plus $150 in court fees and was placed on unsupervised probation for two years.
